What is King's Chamber?
King's Chamber is a reverb plug-in modelled on the King's Chamber of the Great Pyramid of Giza for macOS (VST3, AU and Standalone) made by Sacred Audio. The King's Chamber modelled to scale in granite, with its coffer. Place the listener anywhere, even inside the coffer, and hear the room change. Six more sacred rooms, a chanting choir and a room you can play. It costs 44 € including VAT and runs free for 14 days, and is part of the Temple bundle (all four plug-ins for 77 €).
10.47 by 5.23 by 5.80 metres of red granite, and the open coffer at the west wall. King's Chamber builds its reverb from that room, so where you stand is the sound.
Drag the source and the listener anywhere on the plan. Add a circle of voices chanting OM, play the room's resonances from your keyboard, or let the listener walk from the doorway to the coffer over 16 bars. On a return it is a reverb nobody else has.

Position is the sound
Drag the source and listener on a to-scale plan. Early reflections, about 300 low room modes and the coffer's own resonances all follow where you stand.
Seven sacred rooms
The King's Chamber, Holy of Holies, Solomon Hall, Barabar Sudama and Vapika, the Osireion and the Notre-Dame nave. Golden Secret adds the room's key times phi, and Temple key tunes in 110, 432 or 528 Hz.
A chanting choir
2 to 16 voices chant OM, AUM, HU or AH in a circle round the coffer, along the walls or in two choirs. Use the built-in voice synth or copies of your own track.
Room keyboard and drone
Keys glow where the chamber resonates most. Held notes ring your audio as a resonator, or sound by themselves, excited by shaft wind, noise, the chant voices or your input.
Built for the mix
Decay from 0.5 to 30 seconds or synced in bars, Freeze, mono below 120 Hz, a 30 Hz cut, ducking with a sidechain input and a safety limiter at -0.5 dBFS.
Journeys and a 3D view
The listener walks from the doorway to the coffer, round the room, or in a Procession through a still balancing chamber, over 4 to 64 bars. A 3D cut-away shows standing waves, reflection paths and the shafts.
In the studio
Put King's Chamber on a return with Psy Send: a short tempo-synced tail that ducks under the kick, with the bass kept mono and the rumble cut. Freeze the tail for a breakdown, play chords into the room keyboard to make your pads ring only the notes you hold, or build a whole bed from Two Choirs AUM or Shaft Breath Drone. Journeys move the listener through the room in time with the track.
In the healing room
Load In the Coffer or Circle of OM and the listener lies in the granite coffer while eight voices chant around them, best heard on headphones in binaural. Run your own voice or bowls through it, or let a drone such as Barabar Vapika Drone sound on its own while you work. Choose A=432 or Room pitch, add a 432 or 528 Hz temple key, and use Procession for a ceremony that moves from the outer halls into the holy of holies.
How it's built
The modelling, the research and the choices behind King's Chamber.
Is it a convolution reverb?
No. Four engines share one model of the room: exact image-source early reflections up to the 8th order (about 500 paths in the first 100 ms), a bank of about 300 room modes below 190 Hz, the coffer's own cavity (an open-top quarter-wave near 98 Hz) with a granite resonance near 117 Hz, and a 16-line feedback delay network for the tail.
Each mode's level depends on where the source and the listener stand. That is why moving the listener changes the low end so much, and why a convolution reverb, frozen at one position, could not do this.
Where do the dimensions come from?
From Flinders Petrie's survey: 10.47 × 5.234 × 5.80 m, a double square with a √5 diagonal. The coffer is 2.276 × 0.978 × 1.049 m outside. Nobody knows where the coffer first stood: Petrie found no setting-out marks and signs it had been moved. So you choose: Petrie's position, two later proposals, or centred.
How do you know it sounds right?
We measure it on every build. At the centre of the room the decay (RT60) is 4.0, 3.9 and 3.0 seconds at 125 Hz, 1 kHz and 4 kHz, close to the roughly 4 seconds reported for the real chamber. Lying in the coffer, 2.3 s at 125 Hz. The decay knob set to 30 s measures 31.0 s. Every other sacred room lands within 25 % of its published decay, and the worst peak before the limiter is −0.3 dBFS.
What are its limits?
The published acoustic figures for the chamber are thin and partly second-hand (Danley, Reid, Audio Ease). Our next step is to fit the model to measured impulse responses. The binaural output uses time and level differences between the ears, not HRTF. The chanting voices share the main source's mode pattern; giving each its own would cost about 16 times the CPU.
Why mono bass, a duck and a limiter?
So it works in a mix. Below 120 Hz the tail is mono and anything under 30 Hz is cut, the Duck clears room for the kick, and a look-ahead limiter at −0.5 dBFS keeps 30-second tails safe. The 432 and 528 Hz keys are played as 108 and 132 Hz with two upper octaves, so 432 and 528 sound exactly.

Questions about King's Chamber
What is King's Chamber?
King's Chamber is a reverb plug-in modelled on the King's Chamber of the Great Pyramid of Giza for macOS (VST3, AU and Standalone) made by Sacred Audio. Does King's Chamber work in Ableton Live, Logic Pro and FL Studio?
Yes. King's Chamber is a VST3 and Audio Unit plug-in, so it works in Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Bitwig Studio, Cubase, Reaper, Studio One and other macOS hosts that load VST3 or AU. It also runs as a standalone app without a DAW.
Is there a free trial of King's Chamber?
Yes. King's Chamber runs fully for 14 days from the first time you open it. Create a free account to download it. After the trial it keeps working, but the sound dips to silence for a few seconds every minute until you enter a licence key.
How much does King's Chamber cost?
44 € including VAT, a one-time purchase with no subscription. It is also part of the Temple bundle: all four Sacred Audio plug-ins for 77 €.
Is King's Chamber a convolution reverb?
No. It's an algorithmic model of the room: its size and 2:1 proportions, the granite, the coffer and the room modes, so you can move the listener and the source and hear the room change.
Can King's Chamber be played with MIDI?
Yes. King's Chamber takes MIDI input: Chant and Drone modes play the room's resonances as an instrument.
Does King's Chamber run on Windows?
Not yet. The plug-ins run on macOS 11 or later, on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Windows versions are coming.
